Cross Country: Hanson’s Invitational 9/27/25

The cross country team traveled to Sterling Heights over the weekend to compete in the Hanson’s Invitational. The races were split by performance times and packed with runners from over 50 schools, giving our kids the opportunity to thrive among the competition. Even after a long week of training, the team had an outstanding performance with seven athletes recording new PR’s (Ibrahim Al-Zrouf, Elijah Benskey, Maximilian Majcen, Lucas Mosley, Justin Vazquez, Brooke Bullard, and Xochitl Carrillo) and one a new SB (Avalina Williamson). Among the D2-3-4 schools, Avalina Williamson (29th) on the girls side and Elijah Benskey (39th) and Ibrahim Al-Zrouf (50th) on the boys side took home awards for placing in the top 50.

The team raced strategically and with strong competitive spirit, speeding up in their third mile and moving up in the rankings for the last third of the race. This was a strong and encouraging performance that signals more great things to come as we near the championship portion of the season. Below are the finishing times for all athletes:

Avalina Williamson: 22:41.7 (SB)
Xochitl Carrillo: 25:29.3 (PR)
Isabel Natividad: 25:37.7
